A second, smaller round accent follows, its surface quartered by a cross of gold, before the earring opens into its real form: a wide crescent moon, entirely inlaid with a mosaic of small green stones fitted edge to edge, each one individually set rather than one large gem. That crescent shape gives the earring a strong, graphic silhouette, open and curved rather than a solid drop, letting the green stonework catch light differently along its arc.
