THE PIECE
A vertical stack of three stones, each set in a plain gold bezel and joined edge to edge, so the pendant hangs as one object rather than three linked drops. A pink-red oval sits at the top, flanked by two small clear stones. A cushion-cut blue, dense and faintly violet, holds the middle. A pear-cut green closes the piece at the base, tapering to a point. Nothing is engraved, nothing is pavé-set, and the gold is worked only as far as it needs to be to hold a stone in place.
THE CRAFT
The order of the stones is the whole design. Lightest colour at the top, deepest in the middle, largest at the base, so the piece gathers weight as it falls and settles at its lowest point rather than its centre. That's a rule fine jewellery has leaned on for generations: let gravity do the styling. It's usually solved with fringe or rows of smaller drops. Here it's solved with three stones and nothing else, which means each one has to earn its spot. Red, blue and green are three of the most saturated tones a jeweller can put in gold, and they're rarely allowed to touch. In this piece they meet directly, separated only by the rim of a bezel, and it holds together because there's nothing else competing for the eye.
Worn against a plain neckline, it needs nothing beside it.
