THE PIECE
Running down from the collarbone in one unbroken line, this pendant closes on its lightest stone instead of its darkest. An emerald-cut olive green opens the piece at the top, held between two small clear stones. Below it, a cushion-cut blue reads darker in the case than it does in daylight, when it shifts closer to violet. The base holds an oval pink, larger than either stone above it and the softest colour in the set. Each stone sits inside its own plain gold band, nothing more added. On the ear, that same blue stone turns forty five degrees, so what would sit square instead reads as a diamond.
WHY IT WORKS
Weight usually settles at the bottom of a stacked piece like this, the way most pendants in this shape finish on the deepest available stone. This one runs the opposite direction. Green and blue anchor the top, then the colour lifts as it falls, landing on pink instead of closing into something darker. That choice changes what the piece is for.
